An evening of irish music, theater, song and dance
En kväll med irländsk musik, teater, sång och dans
Som en uppvärmare för "Saint Patrick’s Day" 17e mars blir detta en kväll fylld med irländsk musik, teater, sång och dans.
Saint Patrick's Day or The Feast of Saint Patrick (Lá Fhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick") is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March. It is named after St Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the most commonly recognised patron saint of Ireland.
The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of christianity in Ireland, as well as celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, ceilis and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.
Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in Ireland, Newfoundland, Labrador and Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated by the Irish diaspora around the world; especially in Britain, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.....and also in Stockholm!
Following the large influx of Irish workers to Sweden in recent years, there has been a marked increase in the numbers in the Irish community. The evening of 12 March 2014 in Stallet will see this community and its friends gather to celebrate the Irish national holiday along with its family and friends in Stockholm and Sweden.
All welcome!
