Spuds and Sill - is the amateur drama group of the Swedish Irish Society. Based in Stockholm, the group has put on various classic theater pieces from Irish playwrights, including the performance of Hugh Leonard's 'Pizzazz' this year. The group will be performing various pieces to the flavour of the Celtic and Samhain festival. http://www.facebook.com/spudsandsill
The Irish Dance Project - 3 Nordic Irish Dancing champions come together to form the IDP. They have performed throughout Scandinavia to critical acclaim and winning various awards. They have put together a special show for the Samhain Festival. http://www.irishdanceproject.com
Loughy - Arrived in Scandinavia with Celtic Fusion an Irish fusion band in 1994. Musically Loughy has been involved and playing music since he was 3. He studied and learned Irish tradmusic from and early age and from tinwhistle ended up playing button accordian. Loughy has been gigging all over Scandinavia ,Germany ,Holland ,Spain, Ireland and England. Spengins some time in Spain with a band called THE STOMPING CLAWHAMMERS. TRADALSA was the next next band with Shane Mac and Pat Wright a jazzy trad trio. Loughy currenly performs solo and with Irish duo FADA. http://www.loughy.com
Karin Mikara - A german classical guitarist who plays Celtic Music both old and new, traditional & modern music from Ireland & Scotland. Karin plays solo guitar and jazz improvisations with saxophone & double bass with the "Celtic Music Project".
Brian Friel - 4 times Irish Banjo Champion. Hailing from the North Kerry town of Tarbert, Brian Friel began playing at the age of seven. The young Brian was surrounded by traditional Irish music, and his parents, grandparents and great grandparents all inspired and influenced him as he took his first steps on his musical path. At the age of 13 Brian took up the mandolin and banjo under the tutelage of Willie Larkin of Templeglantin, a step that was to define his subsequent musical career. Brian progressed quickly, winning All-Ireland titles on the banjo and mandolin alike at the Fleadh Cheoil Eireann, Ireland’s biggest and most prestigious annual competition for musicians. A talented whistle player, music has brought Brian all over the world, touring Australia, the U.S.A, Japan, Signapore, Europe and Scandanavia. In that time, Brian has played with many fine groups and worked with some fine musicians, spending a year with Irish folk legends The Furey Brothers. Brian collaborated with Swedish singer Helen Sjöholm on a track for the album, called “Fånga En Ängel- En Hyllning Till Ted Gärdestad”. http://www.brianfrielmusic.com
Brian Carolan - 2 times Irish Banjo Champion, Brian has performed throughout Europe and USA. He has been based in Sweden for one year and performs at various Irish trad sessions and together with BURNS at festivals and concerts in Sweden.
BURNS - is a collaboration of various musicians from different countries who have come together to perform the songs of Brian Burns. Brian has been a singer/songwriter for 18 years. Born in Liverpool, he grew up in Ireland and performed as singer/frontman in bands such as Scream Vision and Seakings Dream in Dublin in the nineties before moving to France in 1993. Brian moved to Germany where he would spend the best part of 10 years touring all major German cities. Performing solo and with his bands ANISH (Traditional and original) and BURNS has played in major festivals, concerts and gigs throughout Europe and USA. Sharon Buckley - is a Irish Singer/Songwriter based in Stockholm, who for many years back home has performed at various events and festivals. More recently Sharon has branched out into the live music scene in Stockholm, and earlier this year released her debut single "One Way" on iTunes and Spotify. With strong rock influences, Sharon is planning for more releases, and has also collaborated in other musicians' projects.
Blarney Pilgrims - was formed in 1972 in Stockholm. Performs irish tunes and songs, old and new as well as original material. BP combines the two traditions into something called "Swirish fusion". They have been performing at pubs, private parties and concert venues in Stockholm and Sweden.
Wadidiz - is an American who fled to Sweden in 1980 as a love refugee. He is a versatile percussionist who plays live rock, Latin-rock, jazz-rock, folk, blues, vintage soul, funk, fusion, reggae and everything in between. He currently performs with Irish folkrocker/ singer-songwriter Brian Burns and has performed with Ace of Base at Café Opera. Wadidiz also performs with DJs to house, deep house, techno, psytrance and Latin house genres and has played at Berns, Fasching, Snaps, Göta Källaren and at many large, private venues in Stockholm to the sounds of congas, bongos, djembe, cajon, kalimba and kazoo.
Keith Hearne - Waterford singer/songwriter based in Stockholm whose acoustic driven music draws on his own journey through life, love, loss and adventure. His music is laiden with a host of influences and has been said to contain undertones of Eddie Vedder, Damien Rice, and David Gray to name but a few. His songwriting has been described as emotional, thoughtful and sometimes introspective, often courting the sombre side of life, while going straight to the heart of universal truths within his own life.
