Woody Mann tog sina första gitarrlektioner i vardagsrummet hemma hos Reverend Gary Davis, legendarisk blues, gospel och ragtimegitarrist. Idag, som fullfjädrad gitarrist glider Mann skickligt mellan olika tekniker och gitarrstilar som bottnar i countrybluesens hjärta. Han har spelat med de flesta toppmusiker i genren som Bob Brozman, John Fahey, John Renbourn, Jo Anne Kelly etc.
